From Agricultural Waste to Powerbank

140 Million Tonnes of CO₂ - Released every year

Around 140 million tonnes of CO₂ are estimated to be released annually from the open burning of agricultural residues across India, a practice also seen in several other Asian countries. This burning contributes not only to greenhouse-gas emissions but also to significant air pollution. Wheat straw and husk form part of this wider agricultural-residue stream. By incorporating these by-products into our powerbank casing, we give them a second use while reducing our reliance on conventional virgin plastic.

A problem born from Practicality

After harvest, large amounts of agricultural residue are left behind. When there is little time or infrastructure to collect it, burning becomes the simplest option.

We use part of that overlooked material stream in our powerbank casing, transforming agricultural by-products such as wheat straw and husk into a functional material while reducing our reliance on virgin plastic.

Where the Material Takes Shape

The outer body of the powerbank is made from a carefully balanced blend of finely ground agricultural residue and ABS. Using agricultural fibres alone can make the material more vulnerable to moisture and less suitable for everyday electronic use, so the blend is designed to combine the natural character of the biowaste with the strength and practicality of ABS.

The result is a casing that is durable, better suited to resist everyday drops and moisture exposure, and practical for daily use, while still reducing the amount of conventional plastic required compared with a fully plastic casing.

Built to Break Down Differently

The agricultural fibres in our composite can increase moisture absorption and environmental deterioration compared with conventional virgin-plastic formulations.
